Market Updates

🌿 In Season This June 🌿
“Everything Starts Moving Again.” ☀️🍓🌱
June is where the market properly changes gear.
You can feel it the second you walk through. The heavy winter energy has gone, spring crops are settling in, and suddenly everything starts getting brighter, faster and more colourful. English produce begins taking centre stage, soft fruit starts showing off properly, tomatoes actually taste like tomatoes again, and menus naturally start becoming lighter without even trying too hard.
It’s also the point in the year where seasonality becomes really obvious.
One week something’s scarce and expensive, the next it’s everywhere and beautiful. The transition happens quickly in June, especially once warmer weather properly settles in across the UK and Europe. Availability improves almost overnight on certain lines, but with that comes a lot of fluctuation too - particularly with berries, stone fruit and some salad items reacting to heat, rain and sudden demand spikes.
The good news is there’s genuine depth across the market now.
English strawberries are finally landing properly - although still on the expensive side. English Tomatoes are just starting to appear. Cherries are arriving with better consistency week by week. Peas, beans, courgettes and summer salads all feel alive again.
This is the month where simple food starts winning. Less hiding behind heavy sauces and slow cooking. More letting ingredients speak for themselves while they’re naturally at their best.
